EVENT CENTRE

Competition Centre is situated in Repino, about 40 km from St Petersburg, Russia. All accommodation [except D] and services, meeting places are located in the hotel Burevestnik. Tel.: +7 921 7432657, http://www.moscompass.ru/news/spb

COMPETITION CENTRE

Events will take place within 60 min by bus from Competition Centre in area “Goluboje ozero”, close to the main road St. Peteresburg – Helsinki. All teams will be provided with heated rooms in the area. Electricity, water and other necessary services available. There is enough space for warming up and ski-test in the area. The training map covers area close to the event centre, finish area for all days, and other part of training area behind the main road [take care when crossing it for training]. It is strongly forbidden to leave the area of the training map.

PARTICIPATION

JWOC CLASSES
W – 20: born in 1983 and younger
M – 20: born in 1983 and younger

Maximum 6 women, 6 men per country can start in individual event, max. 2 relay* / class
*) only the relay with better result will be classified

EYOC CLASSES
W – 17: born in 1986-1988M – 17: born in 1986-1988

Maximum 4 women, 4 men per country in one start.

Participants, taking part in European Championships, can take part in JWOC relay teams

MAPS

New ski-orienteering maps, no special symbols, scale 1: 10 000, vertical contour interval 5 m, size maximum A4 for all events, according to the IOF SKI-O maps norm. Model event maps will be provided after arrival in the competition centre.

TERRAIN TYPE

The area of competitions is located at height from 40 up to 100 meters above a level of the Baltic sea. Different features of relief, many details. Old map of terrain is provided with the Bulletin. All tracks will be prepared by snowmobiles.

SPORT IDENT ELECTRONIC PUNCHING SYSTEM

SportIdent electronic punching system will be used. Competitors may use their own SI-card, or they can borrow one from the organiser. All competitors must provide own SI card numbers at registration. All competitors use the same card for all events and are responsible for checking their SI number with the respective start list. No punching at the finish line, there is electronic time keeping system. All control points will have two punching units, on the side of the track. Wait for beep and light! For case of miss-function of SI system, there are classic punchers on all controls, punch into the map.
Borrowing SI-cards will cost nothing for the competitor, but extra $15 will be taken for lost borrowed SI-card.

For these not familiar with SI system, the model event will serve as the example.

START NUMBERS

All competitors shall put the number of the left thing. The size is A6. Numbers will be delivered for each events in the evening.

MEDIA SERVICES

Press centre is located only in the event centre in Repino. There is full mobile phone signal in the event centre and in the competition centre.

CEREMONIES

All official ceremonies will be in the hotel Burevestnik. There will be flowering ceremony after each event, we ask all winners not to miss it, media need you.
